CRES 2nd Grade Event

Planting for Sally’s Circle Outdoor Classroom 🌳

We are excited to welcome the Cuba-Rushford 2nd Graders to Outdoor Arts & Recreation Society (OARS) for a special hands-on learning day at Sally’s Circle Outdoor Classroom!

During their visit, students will:

🌱 Plant trees that will become part of Sally’s Circle — helping create shade, habitat, and a living legacy they can return to visit as they grow.
🌳 Learn about their trees — including how trees grow, why native species matter, how roots support soil health, and the role trees play in clean air and wildlife habitat.
🥾 Take a guided nature hike to explore trails, identify signs of wildlife, and connect classroom science to the natural world.
🌞 Play and explore outdoors, building confidence, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for their local environment.

This experience blends environmental education, stewardship, and outdoor recreation in a way that is age-appropriate, interactive, and memorable. By planting trees themselves, students gain a sense of ownership and pride — knowing they helped shape a space that future classes will enjoy.

Sally’s Circle Outdoor Classroom is designed to be a living learning space where children can discover, create, and grow — both academically and personally.

We are proud to partner with Cuba-Rushford Central School to provide meaningful outdoor education opportunities right here in our community.
