Overnight Skywatching with OARS: Perseids & New Moon

Join OARS for an unforgettable overnight skywatching event under a dark summer sky! From 8 PM on August 6 to 6 AM on August 7, 2025, we’ll gather at OARS to enjoy the new moon, catch the dazzling Perseid meteor shower, and learn to navigate by the stars. Participants will practice reading star charts and discover techniques for nighttime navigation, all while marveling at one of the year’s best celestial shows. Bring a blanket and pillow, snacks, a red flashlight, and your sense of wonder!
